Saturday, February 25th, 2017 - 1:00 - 5:00 PM

The Helios Centre, 116 Judd Street, London WC1H 9NS

Don't miss this fun, practical workshop for everybody interested in the ancient healing art of Thai Yoga Massage (Nuad Bo Rarn). It's both preventive and therapeutic, combining acupressure with yoga like stretches, which bring balance and harmony to your whole being. The workshop includes -

• A broad selection of techniques in the face up (supine), face down (prone) and seated positions.

• The history of Thai Yoga Massage.

• Safety and ethical considerations.

By the end of the workshop you will be able to perform an hour-long treatment. Traditional Thai Yoga Massage can help prevent illness, improve the immune system, increase energy and reduce stress. It can also be used to alleviate headaches, back pain, and stiffness in the shoulders and neck. It is a holistic treatment that restores vital energy and helps balance our mental and emotional wellbeing. It utilises acupressure and stretching - the acupressure is applied with fingers, hands, feet, elbows and knees along the energy lines of the body. The passive stretching increases the receiver’s flexibility - keeping the body supple and toned.

The whole practice works on the mind as much as the body and can be a moving meditation for both the therapist and the receiver. It takes place on a mat, no oils are used and the receiver always remains fully clothed. Regular treatment stimulates and strengthens the nervous, respiratory, circulatory, digestive and immune systems. It can also reduce tension while boosting energy levels and improving flexibility, posture, digestion, and self-esteem. Often a deep sense of calm and peace is experienced during and after a treatment.
